Scandinavian Genealogical
Research by Finn A. Thomsen
This book offers the average genealogist help transcribing and translating the Danish language, which was used in both Danish and Norwegian records. Only the essential information needed have been presented in order to translate and transcribe information of genealogical importance from these records. A Danish-English Genealogical Dictionary has been compiled and included to assist in translating even the most obscure of genealogical terms. Also included is information on the pronunciation of place and given names. This is valuable to a researcher when working with spelling variations, particularly those found in U.S. records dealing with Danish and Norwegian immigrants.
