The
Beginner's Guide To Danish Genealogical Research by Finn
A. Thomsen

Because of its small size, 29 pages, it is not packed with a grea deal of information. However, the information found in this book is very helpful. As a beginners guide, it sets out the 7 first steps for starting research in the original Danish records. Thompsen explains the types of records to be found and their contents. A list of some Danish words and their meanings is included as a very helpful tool, along with the Gothic alphabet. There is also a list of the counties and incorporated cities of Denmark, with maps to show locations for the counties. Other helpful tools include a list of personal given names, a list of archives, libraries, and genealogical societies in Denmark, and a list of genealogical guidebooks, manuals, gazetteers, etc.
